The best way to reduce oil and/or bacterial overgrowth is to target oil glands with ingredients that do not traumatize the skin.  Trauma (inflammation) stimulates oil so other artificial ingredients like Benzoyl Peroxide work against your skin and ultimately result in rebound acne.

Rosacea and Sensitive Skin

Both Rosacea and Sensitive skin are the result of inflammation and it is therefore critical to use ingredients that remodel, repair and calm so that skin health is restored.  The capillaries (and redness) that are often seen reflect two coexisting conditions; the skin is attempting to repair itself by increasing blood supply to certain areas, and, over time, the skin thins from the excessive inflammation which results in more capillaries being revealed. Calm is designed to increase the density of the skin (which covers capillaries) while calming the inflammation and encouraging repair in a non-irritating fashion. The liposomes vastly improve penetration while restoring the health of the barrier. An intact barrier is a critical component of the restoration process of Rosacea. In addition, read more…

The skincare world is filled with products for this condition that simply do not work. Usually this is due to one of three factors. One, the companies use one or two active ingredients at percentages that just do not get it done; two, the companies use ingredients that test well in labs, but in the skin, have much less effect or three, the companies ingredients are inflammatory resulting in a rebound effect that negates any lightening effects. read more…

Osmosis has a different focus than most skincare lines; we believe in creating a partnership with the skin. This partnership includes utilizing ingredients that the skin recognizes, maintaining the epidermal barrier while focusing most of our attention on the dermis, virtually eliminating inflammation during repair and feeding the skin through increasing blood flow. The combination of these strategies in conjunction with our unique ability to penetrate the skin without harming it make this line the best in the world at restoring skin health and returning it to a more youthful state. read more…

In this day and age, I am becoming extremely aware of the importance of excercise. I know that those vibrating slimming belts from the 50′s are not going to cut it. I need to make a lifestyle change, I need to set goals and stick to a plan. Excerise is key to maintain a healthy heart, strong bones, cholesterol levels….and the list goes ON and ON!! I work out for the health benefits of a long, healthy life, as well as trying to keep the numbers on the scale from climbing up, up, up. We’ve all heard “diets don’t work”…It’s taken me years to realize it, but I think “they” are right…Diets DON’T work. There is no quick fix, or magic pill that will keep you fit and healthy for life…You have to work at it, you need a plan and you need to take action! If you are consistent and you  really make it habitual and normal to stay fit, you will reap the rewards. Hands down! Now… what does exercise have to do with skin care? read more…

Answer:YES!

“Your skin is like a mirror – it reflects everything that is going on within your body and mind. Pay attention to keeping your mind, body and emotions balanced, and the results will show up as a clear, glowing complexion.” -This is a quote I recently heard and I really liked the message. It’s so true, we get so caught up in the hussle and bustle of our daily lives, we don’t even realize that our stress levels are affecting our immune system, AND the body’s biggest organ-SKIN!  Stress  puts a damper on the body’s digestive system and interferes with the ability to absorb proper nutrients. So we need to reduce our stress levels and work on staying positive,  But if you don’t have time to meditate the stress away for 3 hours at a budist temple (which I’ve done and is amazing btw). There are small, day to day steps you can do to help achieve and maintain that glowing skin…oh and stress levels too:)

1. DIET: A balanced diet and proper eating habits help keep the body and mind performing at optimal levels. I try to eat unprocessed foods. I am also aware of the eat for your skin diet, which includes foods like Salmom, blue berries, nuts and seeds, leafy greens, sprouts, wheat grasses, etc. read more…

sept0109Fat free diets are the worst diets of all.  Fats and oils provide essential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant protection.  It is important to know which fats are good fats and which fats are bad.

Saturated Fats: These fats are not your friend  and include vegetable fats such as Crisco, lard, animal fats and butter.  Too much of these fats can cause heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and ovarian and breast cancer.   This type of fat leads to inflammation which increases the aging process.  Limit yourself to one serving a week of beef, veal, pork or lamb. read more…

aug1109When it comes to the topic of cocaine versus coca cola my honest opinion is they are equally addictive and harmful. The only shocking difference is that coca cola is still legal. If I had to choose between the two it would be a very tough choice and that is not because I am a drug addict or a sugar addict but because they both are extremely harmful and I am not convinced one is more harmful than the other. Coca Cola could be very useful for many other applications but when consumed I believe it to be very dangerous. Read below for some interesting facts about Coca Cola and it’s competitor Pepsi, yes Pepsi is just as bad. read more…
